HomeAbout UsOur TeamApprenticeships

Our apprenticeship scheme, launched in 2015, has provided valuable opportunities to 26 aspiring professionals. We’re proud of the many who have successfully completed the program and are now contributing to our team.

Throughout their apprenticeship, our Manufacturing Apprentices combine practical, on-the-job training with theoretical learning at college. They receive comprehensive support from dedicated mentors, Team Leaders, HR, and Line Managers, ensuring their success and development.

About our Apprenticeship Scheme

The apprenticeship scheme is a 42-month program – this is for the L3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship, we are now training our apprentices to become multi-skilled metal fabricators within our departments, this is done through a 4 rotation schedule with increasing time in each department working with a work plan and training plan.

Apprenticeship structure: The Apprenticeship Coordinator and mentors provide primary support, while training is delivered by our shop floor employees such as team leaders and technical support.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Leicester College as our provider for manufacturing apprenticeships, beginning in 2024. Previously, we collaborated with Loughborough College.

“I am enjoying my time as an Apprentice at JC Metalworks. As I am coming towards the end of my apprenticeship, I have been given the opportunities to develop my skills and experience throughout, to help me towards becoming a full time Manufacturing Engineer once I complete my apprenticeship. As well as this, I have been able to achieve a Level 4 HNC qualification with the support from JC Metalworks, which has given me a better understanding of the manufacturing side Engineering as a whole.”

George Wintle

“I am thoroughly enjoying my experience as an apprentice here at JC Metalworks. Although only in my second year, I have already gained a vast array of knowledge and skills in fabrication, welding, CNC laser and punchcutting.”

“In addition to this I have been attending college one day a week, working towards a level three qualification, gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge in the sheet metal fabrication sector.”

Jake’s journey is particularly inspiring, as he transitioned from an apprentice to an Apprenticeship Coordinator. These are just a few examples of the many ways our apprentices can advance within our company.
